The Importance of Walker, Rollator and Scooter Maintenance
Just like you need to maintain your vehicle, you need to do the same with your walker, rollator or scooter! Keeping up with your maintenance will allow you to avoid large problems that will require more expensive repairs, but it will also save you time.
Maintenance is so important to us at Progressive Mobility and Medical, which is why we’re having a Check Up/Clean Up event on May 22nd through the 24th! Keep reading to learn more about the event and the importance of maintaining your mobile medical equipment.
Check Up/Clean Up Event at Progressive Mobility and Medical
Let us help you maintain your mobile medical equipment from May 22nd through May 24th. At our event, we will check your equipment from top to bottom as well as provide a free cleaning of your walker or scooter. Giving your walker, rollator or scooter regular maintenance will help extend the efficiency of the equipment, allowing you to use it for a long time.
Although our event is here to help you maintain your mobile medical equipment, there are some things that you can do at home that will keep it in great shape! Here’s what you can do:
Battery maintenance. If your equipment uses a battery, it’s important that you know how often it needs charged and how long the battery lasts while in use. If you start to notice the battery isn’t lasting as long as it should, it may be time for a new one!
Cleaning. You clean your clothes, floors and dishes, so why shouldn’t you clean your walker, rollator or scooter? Making sure there isn’t dust, dirt or debris on it is key. You can use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outside of the equipment. If you’re doing a deep clean, make sure you’re using appropriate cleaners. And don’t forget to clean the underside of your equipment as well as around the battery terminal.
Check the tires. You have to get new tires on your vehicle, which means you also need to pay attention to the tires on your mobile medical equipment. Make sure there’s enough air in your tires as well as the proper amount of tread. Your tires are an essential part of your equipment, which is why you shouldn’t ignore them!
